PUMP UP THE YAM!!!

Family farm in Guapiles
Here's a picture taken two months ago of the farm's progress. The family farm is in Guapiles (about 75 kms from San Jose, on the way to Limon) and as you can see the main crop is YAM, it is for export to the US, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Asian countries. In the pic is my cousin Eduardo who is the care taker and main farmer. Yam is a root (like Yuca or Potatoes) with a very distinguishable flavor, the crop takes approximately 9 months (sort of like having a baby). I will post future pics of the progress, the farm also has AVOCADO trees (Aguacate) as well as some Yuca, Orange trees, Tangerine-Lemon (Limon-Mandarina), Sweet Lemon (Limon Dulce), Papaya, Coconuts (Coco), Chile, Guava (Guayaba) and some ornamental flowers. You are all welcome to visit the farm and stay and enjoy the caribbean climate, just let me know in advance so we can get the grill going!!!
